Later, Jezzie explores with Sig the influence of Spanish Colonialism on the politicking in the Philippines and the importance of speaking truth to power.

Episode 317 - Spotlight: Favourite Filipino Canadian Podcasts and Mentorship

June rings in Filipino Canadian Heritage Month and the Halo Halo Podcast will be amplifying fellow Filipino/a/x Canadian voices in episodes released this month. On this episode, Jezzie and Sigi focus on some of their favourite Filipino Canadian Podcasts: Filipino Fridays Podcast, Exploring Filipino Kitchens and Living Hyphen. The guys share their feelings of pride and elation to be part of a podcast landscape which includes other Filipino/a/x Canadian voices talking about many topics such as “Being Filipino Enough”; Filipino food culture and a metaphorical and narrative take on being Filipinx in the diaspora.
