On this taste test, Jezzie quickly samples Botong Francisco's 1964 "Filipino Struggles Through History" mural, where he shares how breathtaking this monumental piece of art is.  Beautifully restored and located in Manila's National Museum of Fine Art, he likens this artistic endeavour to a dynamic, epic and bright graphic novel that depicts the resiliency and strength of the FilipinX people over the last 500 years.

On this warmup, Sigi leads your co-hosts through another instalment of Catharsis.  In this episode, Sigi and Jezzie reveal which movies, songs and TV shows produces laughter and joy.  Find out which of your co-hosts gets a belly ache after watching an episode of the "The Carol Burnett Show" and which co-host can't help but giggle when Buddy the "Elf" tells the audience that Santa does not smell like beef and cheese!

Jezzie dials it in from the Seludon, former capital of the Kingdom of Maynila and the ancient lands of the Tagalogs and Kapampangans, while Sigi joins him from his homebase in Canada's capital region.  On this episode, they review Alex Tizon's "Big Little Man" and unpacks it's themes of representation, and the impact of colonialization on Asian masculinity.  Later, they examine more specifically Filipino masculinity and take inspiration from their fathers and the current Mayor of Manila, Isko Moreno.  Finally, they encourage us to share our wealth and take pride in ourselves as ways of embodying a new Asian masculine identity.

Sigi helps Jezzie unpack the end of the Star Wars Skywalker Saga.  They discuss Episode 9 - Rise of the Skywalker, and the expectations attached to it.  Later they analyze and interpret the hero's journey across the triple trilogy movie series.  Next, Jezzie speaks to his feelings on the loss and ending of 40-plus years of storytelling on this particular part of the Star Wars universe. Finally, both your co-hosts review how the FilipinX community copes with loss through the Damayan system and how it may be important to make room for loss in one's life.

A New Year comes a new look!  Welcome to this very special episode where we debut our new logo for the Halo Halo Podcast, as well as interview our long-time listener and designer, Mailyne Briggs, who not only helped conceive and materialize this amazing design, but also shares her interesting life story and gives us a peak into her creative process.  Later, Sigi and Jezzie discuss what popular lovebrands have seeped into their psyche's and then analyze the Filipino disposition to give high loyalty and preference for foreign-made brands over local products and give them an unquestioningly "Blue Seal" approval.
